Pediatric Subspecialty Written Exam Update

Announcement of the Pediatric Subspecialty Virtual Written Exam in January 2021

Updated October 21, 2020

We regret that the June 2020 Pediatric Subspecialty Written Examination had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  In the interim, the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology has had great success conducting ABCN oral examinations virtually.  In light of that success and with the approval of the ABCN Board of Directors we are pleased to announce that there will be a virtual Pediatric Subspecialty Written Examination administered using similar remote methods on January 13, 2021.

We encourage anyone who is interested in taking this 30-item written exam to complete your Pediatric Clinical Neuropsychology Subspecialty application, credential review, and test registration as soon as possible to ensure that the paperwork is processed by ABPP and ABCN in a timely manner. Additionally, please inform us of your intent to sit for the exam by completing this form by December 1, 2020.

Please note: If you were previously scheduled to take the examination in June 2020 and wish to now take it in January, please complete the form as well. You will not automatically be placed on the list to take the January 2021 exam.

This form closed for new submissions on December 1, 2020.

Please consult the ABPP website for further information about the Pediatric Subspecialty criteria and FAQs.  Additional questions can be addressed to Kira Armstrong, Written Examination Chair, at
