Practitioners who are currently board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology through ABPP/ABCN are eligible to apply for subspecialty board certification in Pediatric Clinical Neuropsychology. The subspecialization process involves: (a) credential review of training, education, and practice in pediatric clinical neuropsychology; (b) written examination; and (c) submission of one subspecialty practice sample case. Candidates who successfully pass all three stages will be awarded subspecialty board certification by ABPP/ABCN. Consistent with ABCN Specialty Board procedures, there is no grandparenting or senior option available for subspecialization. A list of frequently asked questions is available.
All ABCN-certified specialists who would like to pursue subspecialty certification in pediatric neuropsychology are encouraged to review the subspecialty candidate manual for credential requirements and submit a free application to ABPP. Once a candidate passes credential review, the candidate is eligible to register for the pediatric written examination. Success on the written examination leads to the final practice sample step.
All interested ABCN-certified pediatric neuropsychologists are strongly encouraged to support the subspecialty of Pediatric Clinical Neuropsychology.
